Lecture on Master Yinyuan in Guanghua Temple 广化寺 Beijing

It was my great pleasure to stay at Guanghua Temple 广化寺 in Beijing and gave a lecture on Master Yinyuan in Nov. 13, 2016. Guanghua Temple is the headquarter of Beijing Buddhist Association and an important site in the Ming and Qing Dynasty. The topic of my talk is "Chan Master Yinyuan Longqi and the Formation of Early Modern East Asian Buddhism" 隐元隆琦禅师与前近代东亚佛教圈的形成. Thank you Ven. Shengkai 圣凯, Dingming 定明 and all the other teachers. (Please note that in the link page there is a precious photo of President Xi Jinping 习近平, then Fujian governor, and Master Jiewen 戒文, who was the previous abbot of Huangbo Temple in Fuqing.

I found online a photo of President Xi Jinping's 习近平 visit to Wanfu monastery at Mount Huangbo 黄檗山万福寺 when he was the governor of Fujian (1999-2002). It is no wonder that he mentioned Yinyuan when he gave a speech during Nikai Toshihiro's 二階俊博 visit in 2015.
